Some Very Good Reasons to Hire Us
1. Knowledge and Experience
You just don't realize when you are under fifty just how much you have done or seen or caused to happen. In the world of business law, helping the client avoid problems is more than half the responsibility. I've been there and probably either done it or seen it done. I can help you weave the maze and avoid the time and money-wasting problems that others haven't even seen.
In addition, I have participated in everything from the launch of the one-woman business through many private and public offerings and the sale/merger of a number of multi-million dollar operations to the defense of "white collar" financial matters by the Feds. There are crocodiles out there, and I know what they look like.
2. Education
The importance of some choices you make in life just don't become evident for years. It wasn't until I worked closely opposite the IRS drafting pension and profit sharing plans that I realized that my education was better than any of their attorneys. With a few notable exceptions, that has remained true with regard to other tax attorneys for my whole career.
3. Availability and Accessibility
One of the reasons I practice alone is so that I can have personal contact with each of my clients and know their situations personally. I am accessible by phone, FAX or e-mail between 6:30 am and 9:00 pm, six days a week. If you really need to see my handsome face, our office is located right at the bottom of an off-ramp on 1-15 in Northern San Diego County. We have clients from Australia to Luxembourg and in most of the active business states.
4. Privacy
I am very circumspect about your matters. Neither I nor my staff discuss them with anyone and we don't use our client list for anything but Christmas cards. The Attorney-Client privilege assures that things you tell me and matters I design and draft for you are never disclosed unless you tell me to do so or a court orders me to disclose. That has never happened in all of my years practicing law.
5. Cost
I am not inexpensive. Nothing worthwhile is. However, I attend to your matter personally. Therefore, you get big city, big firm service without the layers of rain-makers, department heads, responsible attorney, associate attorneys, paralegals and legal secretaries billing time on the same matter. For the level of service we give, we are very reasonably priced.
6. Planning Experience
Attorneys are known, generally, as deal killers in business transactions. Most of us are trained to spot the issues and to “Parade the Horribles” about those issues. Not many have any training or experience in planning around, through, over or with those issues. I do.
7. The License
Here in California, compared with almost all other states, we allow many kinds of people to practice law on behalf of your financial interests. Real estate brokers and sales people, escrow companies and officers, hospital admissions personnel, police and other enforcement officers are all allowed to do things, prepare documents and deal with your rights in a way that can cost you a lot of money. They aren't trained for it and almost always do not have your best interests as their chief motivation.
Some people would say that this is just shameless self promotion. Probably so. Certainly each of those people mentioned above can fill out the paperwork pretty well. But I've seen way too many people rely on the good graces of those with whom they deal only to be stabbed in the pocketbook by things they didn't understand. Let me protect your interests.
