Church College of Hawaii, Laie, Hawaii: 1959 -- 1961. Studied pre-med, economics and international relations. Suspended college studies to serve as a missionary in Japan 1962 – 1965.
Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah: Bachelor of Arts degree with dual major in Political Science and Economics (1967); active in many school activities. (President of the flying club; owner and operator of a dance band). Worked my way through school. Language was Japanese.
Arizona State University College of Law — Charter Class (1970); At the time this excellent school conducted an extended program allowing students to “specialize” during the third year. I took every tax and business planning class offered.

Law Related Experience
Executive aide to the Governor of Arizona. In charge of Indian liaison and veteran’s affairs.
Associate, Block, Brickner and Lopin, Santa Ana, California where I implemented and obtained IRS approval for over one hundred professional corporation employee benefit plans. These were the days just as the IRS was capitulating the professional corporation (Kintner regulation) issues but forced us to obtain approvals one by one for the pension and profit sharing plans.
Owner, Law Office of Jay W. Henderson, Newport Beach and Irvine, California. This firm specialized in serving the business, tax and estate planning needs of the local business community.
President, Westwind Production Company, Inc. which drilled and operated oil and gas wells in Oklahoma and Colorado. One Hundred Percent hit rate. Merged the company into a trading public company.
Of Counsel, Wittman, Mitchell and Skola, a California professional corporation (this firm split up and redirected its efforts into a niche boutique style of practice). Responsibilities included management analysis and membership on the management committee, tax, business, estate planning, international transactions, asset protection planning, foreign entity creation and use.
